In December 1987, José and Mari, some friends of my parents, gave me a very thick red book for my birthday, bound in paperback and with blank pages. I then decided to fill it with drawings as I grew older with the intention that this beautiful gift would accompany me for the rest of my life as a testimony of my artistic evolution.
Since then I understand my sketchbooks as a diary, something intimate that I do not usually show, a laboratory full of notes and phrases addressed to myself with the purpose of fixing in my head certain ideas, findings that at some point arise during the creative process and that at that moment shed light being the answer to questions that I have been trying to solve for years.
